We are grateful to Girard College's new and dynamic president, Autumn Adkins, and her terrific team for hosting us on January 18. The campus has a fascinating history, was a focal point of the civil rights movement, and the site of a historic 1965 protest in which Dr. King participated to open admission to students from all backgrounds. Significantly, this day will mark the 45th anniversary of Dr. King's participation in that 1965 demonstration.
